Canon Miraisha Portfolio Review

As part of activities lined up to celebrate “Miraisha Programme’s” 10th Anniversary, This Portfolio Review, themed on documentary photography is aimed at providing a platform for young photographers across Africa to sharpen their skills. It allows them to showcase their work and gain insights from experienced professionals in the industry. Our mission persists - to enable young individuals to earn a substantial livelihood through visual storytelling and to impact meaningful change within their communities across Africa.

About the Miraisha Programme

Aligning with Canon's corporate philosophy of Kyosei, which means living and working together for the common good, the Miraisha programme fosters job opportunities in Africa by providing workshops for photographers, videographers, filmmakers, and print business owners.

The name "Miraisha" is a fusion of Japanese and Swahili, symbolizing the program's cross-cultural approach. Mirai – Future (Japanese) and Maisha – Livelihood (Swahili) together they create future livelihood.
