World-renowned photographer Martin Parr is a passionate believer in the power of print – both as the ultimate expression of his artistic vision, and as a profitable revenue stream. To gain more control over the quality, cost and speed of producing prints of his work, Martin decided to upgrade his in-house print technology.
After a thorough market search, Martin invested in a Canon imagePROGRAF large format printer, which delivers outstanding image quality even at high speeds. Since he uses a Canon 5DS-R camera, this also avoided reproduction issues caused by converting images between devices from different brands.
By doubling production speed, Martin can now work on several projects at once and stage pop-up exhibitions where he shoots, edits and prints images in hours. As well as boosting revenue and cutting outsourcing costs, going digital allowed Martin to spend more time perfecting his prints.
