1. JRL 170 Jumbo roll loader
A motorised Fotoba Jumbo Roll JRL 170 feeds media to the Colorado.
2. Colorado M-series
The Colorado M-series large format roll-to-roll printer with UVgel technology then prints the packaging designs.
3. XLA170 Cutter
A Fotoba XLA170 system cuts the output to the correct size.
4. ST170 output stacker

Pre-print corrugated explained
Pre-print corrugated means digital printing on a liner material that is later laminated to a corrugated base substrate, creating a high-quality printed package. It can be viewed as the digital version of litho lamination.
Pre-print involves printing the top liner on a large roll or sheets before it is fed into the corrugator or laminated to finished board. As such, pre-print has often been printed using offset for its historically higher image quality, but this is changing as new technologies such as UVgel emerge.

UVgel at the heart
Our UVgel technology, which is at the core of our Colorado roll-to-roll printers, is a perfect fit for printing a broad range of applications. It delivers the productivity, quality, speed, and versatility which today’s market demands.
A unique ‘print-then-cure’ technology with instant-dry gel inks, cured with UV LED lights. The advantage of a gel over a fluid is that it is possible to deposit more ink in less passes, without the ink flowing in and over the medium. Ensuring razor-sharp prints with a wide colour gamut and consistently repeatable over time and over different machines. Odourless and extremely durable.
Why UVgel for digital packaging printing?
