EOS R5 C

Multi-function accessory shoe

First introduced in the XF605 camcorder and EOS R3, Canon’s multi-function accessory shoe provides data communication and direct power to a new range of accessories. This includes Canon’s DM-E1D stereo microphone and TASCAM’s CA-XLR2d-C audio XLR adapter, featuring professional XLR inputs with manual control, monitoring and 48V power. Existing speedlites and triggers can also be attached.*

* Weather-sealed Canon Speedlites not supported.

Professional interface

Connectivity on the EOS R5 C includes dedicated terminals for timecode in/out, 3.5mm microphone input, headphone output, micro-HDMI output, flash sync, N3-type remote and a USB-C terminal for power, charging and communication. A cable protector is included in the box to secure both the USB-C and micro-HDMI connections during shooting.

Battery grip and wireless file transmitter

Existing EOS R system accessories such as the BG-R10 battery grip and WFT-R10 wireless file transmitter are supported by the EOS R5 C. While both accessories accommodate two battery units (LP-E6NH, LP-E6N, or LP-E6), the WFT-R10 enhances networking functionality with dual 2x2 5Ghz antennas and ethernet connectivity. Although the EOS R5 C features in-built Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, this accessory is required for using the Browser Remote and Content Transfer Mobile applications wirelessly.

Extensive software application support

The EOS R5 C merges the worlds of Cinema EOS and the EOS R system into one, offering compatibility with an extensive range of professional filmmaking, photography, and virtual reality applications, for both smartphones and personal computers. This includes the Browser Remote for accessing advanced settings and live-view remotely. Content Transfer Mobile for transferring proxy files / editing metadata. Image.canon cloud services for high quality image backups.

External power source for 8K/60P

In addition to LP-E6NH/LP-E6N/LP-E6 batteries, the EOS R5 C can be powered via an external power source (required for accessing 8K recording above 30fps). Supported power sources include USB-C power from the PD-E1 adapter, as well as combined use of the DR-DE6C DC coupler and the CA-946 power adapter.

  1. When used with the EOS R System adapters.
  2. 12-bit Cinema RAW Light options up to 2.6Gbps.
  3. Allows external accessories such as the XLR Adapter, Stereo Microphone and Speedlites to be used. Weather-sealed Canon Speedlites are not compatible.
  4. Batteries cannot be charged with Battery Grip BG-R10 alone. The LP-E6 battery cannot be recharged.
