Full Frame CMOS Sensor

Canon’s newly developed 38.1 x 20.1mm Full Frame sensor creates a new visual look, shallower depth of field and wide field of view with 15-stops dynamic range and Canon’s outstanding image quality. Versatility when shooting is assured, thanks to sensor modes that support Full Frame, Super 35mm and Super 16mm.

Three Sensor Modes

Full Frame: Realise full resolution of the sensor including 5.9K down sampling internal recording, using Full Frame lenses including Canon’s cine primes and the EF range. Also supports Super 35mm (4:3) anamorphic lenses.

Super 35mm: crop mode compatible with lenses designed to cover Super 35mm sensors.

Super 16mm: maximum frame rate of 168fps and recording Full HD/2K (crop) using the B4 mount adaptor.

Versatile recording formats

The EOS C700 FF supports 5.9K RAW at 60 fps, 4K (crop) 72fps, through to high-speed shooting at up to 168fps in 2K crop mode. Shoot RAW on to capture drives, or internally record up to 4K XF-AVC or ProRes to CFast 2.0™, whilst simultaneously recording 2K proxy files to SD card.

Over Sampling 4K Processing

To suppress moiré and reduce noise at high ISOs, initial over sampled 5.9K RGB data is debayered to generate 4K/UHD (2K/HD).
