Skill, Creativity, Empowerment: A New Chapter for Women in Lagos, Nigeria
The "Women Who Empower" initiative offered a detailed curriculum split into three powerful modules: printing, photography, and content creation. The printing module, led by Nigerian lifestyle photographer and Canon ambassador Emmanuel Oyeleke, introduced participants to the latest print processes, emerging trends, and industry insights, helping them master advanced techniques and solutions. Oyeleke also conducted the photography module, providing hands-on training across all stages, from pre- to post-production, to enhance their skills in capturing and processing high-quality images. The content creation module, led by Canon ambassador and Nigerian cinematographer/director Daniel Ehimen, focused on teaching the art of creating engaging video stories, enabling participants to develop their storytelling abilities. Each module was designed to equip participants with specialised skills and knowledge, fostering their growth and creativity in the print and imaging industries.
I could remember back then, my male counterparts would do amazing work, and I would feel I am not doing enough. I felt less of myself, but, after this training, I feel more empowered, I feel more confident. I believe that I can deliver as much excellence to work.
